The Whatcom County Dahlia Society was founded in 1983: We are a non-profit gardening group organized to promote dahlias and dahlia growing in Northwest Washington. We provide education about dahlia culture, promote an annual exhibition of dahlias, and bring dahlia starts to the community through our tuber sale. We are members of the Regional and National dahlia societies, that provide a formal structure for dahlia nomenclature, classification, judging and exhibition schedules. We have members throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties, as well as the lower British Columbia mainland, who enjoy our meeting programs, the social connection through the society, and participate in our club's activities. We also publish a monthly newsletter about dahlias and about our activities for club members.
